摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery with superior safety that includes a current interruption mechanism which is applicable regardless of a shape of the secondary battery and capable of securely interrupting a current at the time of abnormality of the battery. <P>SOLUTION: In the secondary battery including a battery container which houses a wound group as a power generation element, a collector 8 connected to the wound group, and an electrode terminal 2, the electrode terminal 2 is a hollow tube having a flange 26, which is fitted in a hole provided in the battery container 1 so as to be disposed inside the battery container 1. The flange 26 is provided with a current cutoff valve 21 which covers a hollow part of the electrode terminal 2 and is convex toward an inner side of the battery container 1. A top 21a of a convex shape of the current cutoff valve 21 is connected to the collector 8. For the collector 8, a connection part 8a with the current cutoff valve 21 is less in thickness than other parts. The current cutoff valve 21 is an inversion valve, maintains the convex shape until internal pressure in the secondary battery reaches predetermined cutoff pressure, and is inverted to be disconnected from the collector 8 when the internal pressure exceeds the cutoff pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
