PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing carbon dioxide without using any expensive metal compound as a catalyst and at a low energy.
SOLUTION: Carbon dioxide is reduced to carbon monoxide by using a conductive myenite compound. The conductive myenite compound is heated at ≤200°C; a carbon dioxide-containing gas or carbon dioxide is brought into contact with the compound in dry air, dry oxygen or inert gas atmosphere for carbon dioxide to be thereby adsorbed on the compound; then, the compound in the state of having adsorbed carbon dioxide is heated at ≥200°C and lower than the melting point of the compound to thereby reduce carbon dioxide to carbon monoxide. Alternatively, the conductive myenite compound is heated at ≥200°C and lower than the melting point of the compound; and a carbon dioxide-containing gas or carbon dioxide is brought into contact with the compound in dry air, dry oxygen or inert gas atmosphere for carbon dioxide to be thereby adsorbed and simultaneously reduced to carbon monoxide.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
