<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the degradation of contrast at the time of black display. <P>SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display device comprises a first substrate and a second substrate oppositely disposed at a predetermined interval, a plurality of pixel electrodes aligned on the first substrate, wiring disposed between the adjacent pixel electrodes, a counter electrode disposed on the second substrate, and a partition wall raised toward the second substrate on the wiring of the first substrate so as to surround the plurality of the pixel electrodes. In the electrophoretic display device, a solvent in which a large number of white particles is dispersed is filled in an area surrounded by the partition wall. On the pixel electrodes, at least two projecting portions projecting toward the second substrate side are adjacently disposed so as to form a trough portion, and the surfaces of the projecting portions are colored in black. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
