<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve and a cylinder head assembly improved for an internal combustion engine and a similar system and device. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus includes a valve member 160 configured to be reciprocatably disposed within a valve pocket 138 defined by an interior surface 134 of a cylinder head 132. The valve member 160 has a tapered portion 162 defining multiple flow passages 168 and including multiple sealing portions 172. At least one sealing portion 172 is disposed adjacent to each flow passage 168 and is configured to contact a portion of the interior surface 134 of the cylinder head 132 such that each flow passage 168 is configured to be fluidically isolated from an area outside of the cylinder head 132. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
