<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indenoperylene derivative useful as a material of an organic thin film solar cell, particularly a compound exhibiting high photoelectric conversion efficiency when used for an organic thin film solar cell. <P>SOLUTION: The indenoperylene derivative is represented by formula (1). In formula (1), at least one of R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>-R<SB POS="POST">16</SB>is an amino group of formula (2).
