Provided are: an indoor unit (100) configured so that a variation in the distribution of the flow speed of air flowing into the heat exchanger is reduced to prevent pressure loss at the heat exchanger from increasing; and an air conditioner provided with the indoor unit (100). The indoor unit (100) is provided with: a casing (1) having a suction opening (2) which is formed in the upper part thereof and also having a discharge opening (3) which is formed on the lower side of the front surface thereof; an axial-flow or mixed-flow fan (20) provided within the casing (1) at a position downstream of the suction opening (2); and a heat exchanger (50) provided within the casing (1) at a position downstream of the fan (20) and upstream of the discharge opening (3) and exchanging heat between a refrigerant and air which is blown out of the fan (20). A nozzle (6) serving as the air flow path for guiding air, which has passed through the heat exchanger (50), to the discharge opening (3) is formed in the casing (1). In a vertical cross-section of the casing (1) ranging from the front surface side to the rear surface side thereof, the nozzle (6) is configured in such a manner that the opening length (d1) on the inlet side of the nozzle (6) is greater than the opening length (d2) on the outlet side thereof.
