<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display body having a forgery prevention effect. <P>SOLUTION: The display body according to claim 1 comprises at least: a flat base material; a plurality of projected parts or recessed parts in a stripe shape directed to a specific direction formed on at least a part of the base material; and a metal film layer laminated on at least a part of the outermost surface of the projected parts side or the recessed parts side. The projected parts or the recessed parts are divided into a plurality of regions, where the direction of the stripe shape of the projected parts or the recessed parts is different in the each region. A distance between centers of the projected parts or the recessed parts is arranged at an interval less than a short wavelength of visible light so that a linear polarization is absorbed. The projected parts or the recessed parts have substantially flat regions with a distance between centers thereof, which is longer than the distance between the centers of the projected parts or the recessed parts, in order to diffract the visible light.
