<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing incorrect setting by requiring an operation in which a manager is requested to approve a setting change of the image forming apparatus, and to provide a control method and a program. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a control unit 201; an operating unit 205; and an NVRAM 208. The control unit 201 notifies the manager of an application of the setting change input from a setting screen of the operating unit 205. When the application of the setting change is approved by the manager, the control unit stores the approved setting change and an intention of the setting change in the NVRAM 208.
