<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering device, which can cause a user to recognize the occurrence of abnormal conditions, while inhibiting breakage of a principal part in an emergency of receiving rapid reverse input. <P>SOLUTION: A fitting bracket 26 formed on a rack housing 16 is fixed to a cross member 25 of a vehicle body with a bolt 29. The bolt 29 is inserted through a long hole 27 used as a first bolt insertion hole of the fitting bracket 26, and fixed to the cross member 25. When a steered wheel strongly collides with, for example, a curb and a shocking reverse input is applied to the rack housing 16, the long hole 27 and the bolt 29 carry out relative movement in a lateral direction X1.
