<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a management system capable of setting a function to satisfy manager's needs without requiring a manager to be aware of kind of storage device. <P>SOLUTION: The management system connected to a computer system including one or more kinds of storage devices stores management information. The management information includes: (a) information based on manager's request which includes information representing a storage function (function of the storage device) necessary for achieving the function to satisfy manager's request; and (b) information representing the storage function based on the respective storage devices. (A) Receiving a manager's request, (B) the management system specifies an execution pattern including a storage device which has a storage function necessary for achieving the function to satisfy the received manager's request based on the information (a) and (b), and (C) makes a setting to achieve the function for satisfying the received manager's request to any one of the specified one or more execution patterns. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
