<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punch for press working which can press-work magnetic steel sheets simply and accurately. <P>SOLUTION: A punch for press working X comprises a hitting surface 1 for compressing and deforming a magnetic steel sheet 10 by contacting it and a side face 2 for intersecting the hitting surface 1, so that regarding the magnetic steel sheets 10 which configure a rotor of a rotary electric machine with laminated sheets, of the outer regions of a magnet hole to penetrate and support a magnet along the rotary axis core of the rotary electric machine near the outer peripheral part, the region including the region where the distance between the edge of the magnet hole along the radial direction and the edge part of the magnetic steel sheet 10 is the shortest is compressed in the plate thickness direction.
