The present abstract relates to a patent for a circular loom of the type without a plate (1) and to a method for producing jersey on said loom, which loom and method belong to the field of the textile industry, and which were improved in order to provide improvements to the textile structure of the fabric and to the method for producing said fabric. Said loom is provided, overall, with a cylinder (3) provided with upper surfaces (5), adjacent to the grooves (4) where the needles (10) move, supporting the formation and descent of the jersey and substituting for the plates. There is, furthermore, a device (30), for limiting the rise of the fabric with the rising movement of the needles (10), constituted essentially by fabric-rise-limiting blades, which are movable radially (32), which are introduced as appropriate between the needles (10) and which offer a mechanical obstacle to the rise of the fabric.
