This invention relates to a mechanism for assembling and closing two parts, in which the basic parts form a support means that is preferably thin, flat and laminar and, owing to the particular configuration thereof, act as the male portion (1) and the female portion (2) of the connecting mechanism, said portions being provided with a thicker section or projection (8) and a cylindrical housing (9) respectively. The thicker section of the male portion consists of a transverse front extension that occupies approximately two thirds of the upper edge, the outermost part (81) thereof being substantially cylindrical, while the opposite part is narrower (82). The housing (9) in the female part is located at the centre of the upper part thereof and has a transverse, cylindrical, hollow structure in the form of a longitudinally open channel. A decorative cylindrical part (3) is provided at both ends, with a slot for adjusting the closure.
