<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small valve device capable of opening/closing by a motor. <P>SOLUTION: This valve device 1 includes a housing 11 having a body part 12 arranged outside a gas tank and an installation part 13 inserted into a base part of the gas tank, and forming a gas flow passage 15 for communicating the inside of the gas tank with the outside, and also includes a valve element 23 for opening/closing the gas flow passage 15, the motor 42, a worm shaft 44 arranged in parallel to a rotary shaft 42a of the motor 42, a gear mechanism 43 for transmitting rotation of the motor 42 to the work shaft 44, a worm wheel 45 meshing with the worm shaft 44, and a screw mechanism 46 for converting rotation of the worm wheel 45 into reciprocating motion of the valve element 23.
