<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially extend a common life of an electrode during spot welding. <P>SOLUTION: The band (7) protects an electrode (6) of a spot welding gun which welds metal sheets (3, 4) composed of steel and/or alloy steel, and includes a carrier material (24). At least one conductive layer (16) is formed at a side (15) facing the metal sheets of the carrier material (24), and at least one copper layer (21) of the conductive layer composed of copper and at least one nickel layer (23) composed of nickel and/or a nickel alloy are formed at a side (17) facing the electrode (6) of at least the carrier material (24), and the copper layer (21) and the nickel layer (23) have thicknesses of 0.5 μm to 1.5 μm, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
