<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that separates fixing means arranged to be releasably pressed together, and moves a position of transfer sheet transport means that is disposed adjacently to the fixing means, thereby maintaining transfer sheet transporting performance. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: fixing means that can be switched between a pressed state and a released pressed state; first and second transfer sheet transport means respectively arranged upstream and downstream of the fixing means; third transfer sheet transport means disposed between the first and second transfer sheet transport means and movable toward the fixing means side from a predetermined position; and control means that controls switching between a first transport mode in which a transfer sheet is transported in the order of the first transfer sheet transport means, fixing means and second transfer sheet transport means while the fixing means is placed in the pressed state, and a second transport mode in which a transfer sheet is transported in the order of the first, third and second transfer sheet transport means while the fixing means is released from the pressed state and the position of the third transfer sheet transport means is moved toward the fixing means side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
