<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless terminal device and a control method capable of using communication resources with efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile telephone 1 that can execute a suppression process of transmission quantity by the token bucket system when a data packet is transmitted between the mobile telephone 1 and a base station, has: a communication part 60 that selects any of a plurality of base stations to establish communication; a determination part 31 that determines whether or not the base station is a specific base station, based on identification information acquired from a base station with which the communication is established; and a token controller 32 that controls a token rate in the token bucket system.
