HEATING SYSTEM, ONION SORTING FACILITY HAVING THE SAME, METHOD OF OPERATING THE ONION SORTING FACILITY, AND FUEL USING OUTER SKIN OF ONION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an operation cost in an onion sorting facility having a heating system.

SOLUTION: A large amount of outer skins produced in the sorting process of onions are used as the fuel of the heating system. The outer skins of onion are crushed by a crusher 16 and pelletized by a granulating machine 20, and outer skin pellets are charged into a distillation furnace 22 via a storage tank 21. Unburned gas produced in the distillation furnace 22 is burned in a combustion furnace 23 and transferred to a hot-water boiler 24 to produce a primary hot air by the hot water boiler 24 and a heat exchanger 25. The primary hot air produced in the heat exchanger 25 is used as the burning air of a hot air machine 26 of a kerosene type or the like. Thereby, fuel of the hot air machine 26 can be saved. The outer skin pellets produced in summer when a heating system is not used are stocked and are used during operation of the heating system little by little.
