<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for applying a liquid substance to thin steel plate end faces which surely applies the liquid substance to the end faces of connected thin steel plates different in plate thickness without requiring complicated work. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for applying a liquid substance to thin steel plate end faces, rotatable rolls 14 each having a liquid substance applied to an outer peripheral part 24 thereof are brought sequentially into contact with end faces of a plurality of thin steel plates 11, 12, 13 made to pass, connected to one another and different in plate thickness, and the rolls 14 with center shafts 25 mounted to rotating materials 22 rotatably mounted to oblique shafts 23 with upper sides inclined to the sides of the thin steel plates 11, 12, 13 with respect to the vertical direction are energized toward the end faces of the thin steel plates 11, 12, 13 in passing by self-weights. Advance/retreat means 33 to advance/retreat the oblique shafts 23 in the width direction of the thin steel plates 11, 12, 13 are arranged, and the advance/retreat means 33 advance/retreat the oblique shafts 23 based on the present positions and information of the plate thickness of the thin steel plates 11, 12, 13 in passing to bring the rolls 14 into contact with the end faces of the thin steel plates 11, 12, 13 in passing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
