<p>Provided is a drive device for a vehicle, the drive device being provided with an engine, a hydraulic power transmission, and an electric motor and achieving a reduction in the total length in the axial direction of the drive device for the vehicle. An electric motor (MG) is disposed with a rotation axis (a second axis (RC2)) different from a first axis (RC1) and coupled to input-side rotation elements (a pump impeller (14a), a torque converter case (14d)) of a torque converter (14) to which drive force from an engine (10) is inputted and which is rotatable about the first axis (RC1). Therefore, compared to when the engine (10), the torque converter (14), and the electric motor (MG) are disposed in series on the first axis (RC1), the total length in the axial direction of a drive device (8) can be decreased. Consequently, for example, even when it is difficult to dispose the engine (10), the torque converter (14), and the electric motor (MG) in series due to the limitation of the vehicle width in an FF vehicle (6) in which the engine (10) is transversely mounted, it becomes easy to mount the drive device in the vehicle (6).</p> |
