<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon dioxide separator of a simple structure that can be miniaturized, and an alkaline fuel cell system equipped with the same. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided the carbon dioxide separator for separating carbon dioxide gas from a mixed gas containing oxygen gas and carbon dioxide gas. The separator includes: a carbon dioxide separating stack 10 having an anode electrode 13, an anion-exchange polymer electrolyte film 11 and a cathode electrode 12 in this order; a reducing agent supply chamber 30 for supplying a reducing agent to the anode electrode 13 that is disposed on the outer surface of the anode electrode 13 and has a space in which at least a part of the anode electrode 13 side is open; and a mixed gas supply chamber 20 for supplying the mixed gas to the cathode electrode 12 that is disposed on the outer surface of the cathode electrode 12 and has a space in which at least a part of the cathode electrode 12 side is open, wherein the anode electrode 13 and the cathode electrode 12 are electrically connected.
