<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive apparatus that certainly causes a driver to notice the occurrence of failure when an inverter or a coil set of either one system has failed. <P>SOLUTION: When, in two systems of motor drive apparatus equipped with two inverters and two coil sets, a failure of inverter or coil set of either one system is detected (S20:YES), a power supply relay of a failure system is shut down (S50), and a current supply limitation value of a normal system is gradually reduced to zero (S60). Then when a steering torque exceeds a predetermined threshold (S70:YES), the current supply limitation value of the normal system increases by a predetermined amount (S80). Increase of the current supply limit value is stopped, when the current supply limit value of the normal system reaches the maximum current limit value (S90). By gradually generating a situation to generate the steering assist torque after reducing the current supply limitation value to zero once, a driver will be caused to sense changes in the steering torque and surely notice the occurrence of failure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
