<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system which can be used without generating deformation including deflection, and capable of lighting by uniform plane light emission. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system 100 holds a plurality of LED modules 2 on a light source holding part 3 arranged at a center of its chassis 1. The plurality of LED modules 2 radially emit light toward an outer edge of the chassis 1. The emitted light of the LED modules 2 is reflected by a reflecting sheet 4 and emitted through a ring cover 8 and a clearance between the ring cover 8 and the chassis 1 to the outside. The small number of LED modules 2 arranged at a narrow region at the center of the chassis 1 emit bright light up to an outer edge part to perform uniform lighting over all.
