<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump control device, capable of performing the adequate control according to the cause of an overcurrent by determining the cause of the overcurrent when generating the overcurrent in a driving circuit of a motor M1. <P>SOLUTION: When a load current becomes the overcurrent and exceeds the lock determination threshold, the motor M1 is once turned off, and then, the state determination processing is executed for the ON period, in which the motor M1 is turned on, and the OFF period, in which the motor M1 is turned off. Then, based on the VIS signal and VMS signal in the OFF period and the VIS signal and VMS signal in the ON period, it is determined whether the cause of occurrence of the overcurrent is attributable to the lock failure of the motor M1 or is attributable to a short circuit failure. If the lock failure is determined, any foreign matters are removed by intermittently driving the motor M1. If the short circuit failure is determined, an FET (T1) is shut off, and the motor M1 is stopped. Thus, an adequate countermeasure can be taken according to the cause of the overcurrent, and the reliability of the control of a fuel pump can be enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
