<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator monitoring device that can detect a failure of equipment by the monitoring device installed outside a car without laying out a dedicated communication line from the equipment installed in each car to an elevator machine room outside the car, or a hoistway. <P>SOLUTION: The elevator monitoring device includes: an intercom that is provided inside the car of the elevator and that the user inside the car talks to a person outside; a microphone that is installed in the intercom and that outputs input of sound inside the car as a receiving sound signal; a sound generation means that is provided independent of the intercom inside the car and generates the sound of a first predetermined failure notification frequency and sends the sound inside the car when the inner equipment is out of order; and a monitoring means that determines that the equipment is out of order when the monitoring means detects that the sound signal outputted from the microphone includes the sound of the first failure notification frequency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
