Provided is a dynamo-electric machine comprising a stator (13), a rotor (4) arranged within the stator (13), a frame (10) for enclosing the stator (13) and the rotor (4), a pair of bearings (7a, 7b) for supporting the inboard side (1a) and the outboard side (1b) of a rotating shaft (1), and a fan (50a) mounted on the rotating shaft (1). Formed on the fan (50a) are a plurality of blades (53a) provided at substantially equal intervals along the direction of rotation of the rotor (4) and extending in the radial direction of the rotor (4). The cross section of each blade (53a) in the direction orthogonal to the rotor (4) forms an ellipsoid that extends in the radial direction, and the cross-section expands in the shape of a fan in the direction toward the fan (50a). |
