<p>A digital recorder (10) is provided with: a fault-prone array specification unit (101) which can lower the fault rate of a fault-prone array without using another storage unnecessarily, and which specifies a fault-prone array in which the number of fault-prone devices exceeds the number of devices permitted to be faulty; and an exchange unit (105) which switches a fault-prone storage managed by the specified fault-prone array with a specified healthy storage.</p>
