<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable allowing an easy wiring change of an optical element laid in a building without opening a new hole for line passing in a partition wall, when performing the wiring change of the optical element by passing the optical element through the partition wall, and a method for laying the optical cable. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical cable, a plurality of optical elements 11 for indoor and a plurality of hollow pipes 13 having inner diameters into which the optical elements 11 can be inserted are bundled. The plurality of optical elements 11 and optical pipes 13 are twisted together, and it is desirable that the twisting is performed by making twisting pitch of the hollow pipes 13 larger than that of the optical elements 11. After the optical cable in which the plurality of optical elements 11 for indoor and the plurality of hollow pipes 13 having the inner diameters into which the optical elements 11 can be inserted are bundled is laid by being passed through the partition wall of the building, the hollow pipes 13 are partially cut on both sides of the partition wall, and an optical unit is inserted into the cut hollow pipes 13 and is laid to be passed through the partition wall. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
