LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with which retardation having a desired value is given in a light orientation.

SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal layer LC between a pair of substrates SUB1 and SUB2 and is made up of two orientation films ORI1 and ORI2 sandwiching the liquid crystal layer. The orientation films have a azimuth angle retardation value of 1 to 80nm and an anchoring strength of more than or equal to 1.0×10-3Jm-2.
