<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxidizing agent solution for producing a conductive polymer, which has a proper rate of polymerization and a method for producing a solid electrolytic capacitor which is produced by using the solution and exhibits excellent ESR characteristics and heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In the oxidizing agent solution for producing a conductive polymer, which is obtained by dissolving an organic ferric sulfonate in an alcohol solution, the water content in the oxidizing agent solution for producing a conductive polymer is 6-10 mass%.
