<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle generator capable of terminating high-voltage generation during a load dump quickly. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle generator 1 has: stator coils 2 and 3; two rectifier module groups 5 and 6; a controller 100 that on-off controls a MOS transistor; a field coil 4; a power generation control device 7; and a load dump protection determination part 140. The load dump protection determination part 140 instructs the controller 100 to turn on a MOS transistor 51 when an output voltage exceeds a first threshold voltage, and then, instructs the controller 100 to turn off the MOS transistor 51 after waiting for a timing suitable for suppressing generation of a surge voltage when the output voltage becomes lower than a second threshold voltage. In addition, the load dump protection determination part 140 instructs the controller 100 to turn off the MOS transistor 51 forcibly when the timing suitable for suppressing generation of the surge voltage can not be detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
