<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of an upper part of a vehicle body, which can reduce a harsh noise caused during driving of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The structure 50 of an upper part of a vehicle body includes a stay 3 for connecting a bumper reinforcement 4 with a center part of the surface of a lower back 2. The stay 3 controls the deformation of the center part of the surface of the lower back 2 in a vehicle longitudinal direction, so that a back door is prevented from opening, even when a force is exerted which is transmitted from a wheel to a back door during driving and causes a back door to open.
