Each of the heat transfer devices are thermally connectable by the first zone thereof to a first flow channel through which a first fluid can flow and by a second zone thereof to a second flow channel through which a second fluid can flow, so that heat energy can be exchanged between one of the fluids and one of the zones. The flow channels of one of the zones can be interconnected to one another sequentially by a valve arrangement and an interconnecting sequence changes in the course of an operation of the heat pump by the valve arrangement.
