<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the water-draining property of a greening system while maintaining its water retentivity. <P>SOLUTION: The greening system 1 includes: a water-permeable sheet layer 12 provided under a soil layer 11; a plurality of water retention boards 13 provided under the water-permeable sheet layer 12 and each made of a wood fiber board having water retentivity; a water retention sheet layer 14 provided under the plurality of water retention boards 13; and a root-resistant sheet layer 15 provided under the water retention sheet layer 14.
