The route or maneuvers are programmed into the vehicle memory by physically moving the vehicle along this or comparable route, or by physically moving the vehicle so that it performs these or comparable maneuvers. Alternatively, the vehicle can be moved virtually during this teaching step. A proxy or substitute can be used in place of the actual vehicle during programming.
