PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink for ink-jet recording with which an image having high water resistance and light resistance, high density and slight bleeding can be provided and which has high reliability and excellent discharge stability. SOLUTION: This ink for ink-jet recording is characterized by an ink comprising water, a colorant dispersible and/or soluble in water, a surfactant, a wetting agent and 2-ethyl-1,3-hexanediol (hereinafter abbreviated to EHD), the EHD contains 0.05-1 wt.% of a butyric acid ester compound. |
