PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress irregularities of density caused by a recording time interval between scans in the multi-pass recording of recording in each reciprocatory scan. SOLUTION: A print head with a plurality of ink ejecting parts is subjected to the reciprocatory scan by a plurality of the number of times to the same region on a recording medium. The image forming apparatus forms an image by forming a dot to each pixel by ejecting ink to the recording medium on the basis of an input image 320 in each reciprocatory scan. The image forming apparatus includes a color converting part 335 which generates a recording image 400 by subjecting the input image 320 to color conversion according to an ink color, a recording data generating part 370-x which generates recording data of each scan corresponding to a plurality of scans to the recording image generated by the color converting part 335, a recording control part 380-x which controls at least either the color converting part 335 and the recording data generating part 370-x on the basis of the recording time interval between the scans, and a printer engine 180 which carries out recording to the recording medium on the basis of the recording data generated by the recording data generating par 370-x.
