PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability of diesel combustion, in an internal combustion engine which performs the diesel combustion by using fuel which is relatively high in a self-ignition temperature like gasoline.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine generates the self-ignition and the dispersion combustion of fuel by performing first injection at first injection timing during a compression stroke, generating pre-combustion by igniting a fuel spay by a first ignition device, and starting the execution of second injection at timing after the ignition by the first ignition device, and before a compression stroke top dead point that is second injection timing which is set as timing at which the combustion of injection fuel is started with a flame generated by the pre-combustion as a starting point. A second ignition device is installed within a prescribed range which is regulated by an angle smaller than 180 degrees in a rotation direction of a swirl flow with the first ignition device as a starting point. Then, when generating the pre-combustion, the ignition by the second ignition device is performed after the ignition by the first ignition device, and before the second ignition timing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
