The present invention provides an internal combustion engine which is mounted in a vehicle and includes a turbocharger, wherein when an acceleration requirement is made, the internal combustion engine effectively uses gas accumulated in a container, thus appropriately increasing response of the turbocharger. In the internal combustion engine (10) with the turbocharger (58) in the present invention, a pressure in a pressure accumulating container (78) is able to be supplied before a turbine wheel (48) at accelerating, but the pressure supply from the pressure accumulating container (78) is restricted from a point where the acceleration requirement is made to a point where a predetermined time elapses. More specially, in a case where the turbocharger (58) is a variable nozzle turbocharger, a valve-opening timing of a control valve (80) provided between the pressure accumulating container (78) and the turbine wheel (48) is delayed so that the pressure supply from the pressure accumulating container (78) is restricted from a point where the acceleration requirement is made to a point where an angle of vanes (62) is controlled to a predetermined angle in a closing side. |
