Method for Checking the Mechanical Integrity of Stabilizing Elements on the Rotor Blades of a Turbine and Scanning Device for Implementing the Method

The method involves coupling of impeller blades of a rotating vane of a steam turbine in the circumferential direction. The impeller blades are coupled to each other in a mechanical manner. Volume of material, located in the engaging portion (14) of stabilizing elements (12a,12b), is automatically scanned from outside by ultrasound to detect the presence of cracks. An independent claim is also included for a scanning device for checking the mechanical integrity of stabilizing elements.
