PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode active material capable of realizing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent both in cycle characteristics and high-speed charge-discharge characteristics even when used in conditions of more severe temperatures and charge/discharge current than that of a conventional ones.SOLUTION: A cathode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is obtained by passing through at least of steps a. and b., the step a is for mixing a cathode active material precursor and an oxo acid, and the step b is for burning a mixture obtained in the step a (in the step a, a superficial area R(m) of the cathode active material precursor, a density A(g/cm) in the oxo acid, and the weight x(g) of the oxo acid fill the following mathematical formula: 1≥10x/AR>0).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
