PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording device which can suppress attachment of paper powder to a nozzle with a simple structure.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording device includes a recording head 34, a conveyance part 31, a space forming part 10, and a negative pressure applying part 33. The recording head 34 discharges ink on a recording medium P. The conveyance part 31 conveys the recording medium P in a position opposite to the recording head 34. The space forming part 10 is arranged on an upstream side of a conveyance direction D1 of the recording medium P with respect to the recording head 34, and has a foreign matter collecting space 35a which is formed with a placing surface of the recording medium P of the conveyance part 31 and through which the recording medium P passes. The negative pressure applying part 33 applies a negative pressure on the foreign matter collecting space 35a. The space forming part 10 includes a belt 11 and a foreign matter collecting mechanism 14. The belt 11 includes an opposite face 11f opposite to the placing surface of the recording medium P.
