PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable personal authentication that does not require touching of an authentication sensor or the like and assures a very high level of security.SOLUTION: An authentication apparatus includes a range sensor 20 that detects three-dimensional coordinates of a hand 30 in a three-dimensional space in every frame period and a display 11 that displays a plurality of key images 12 on a screen thereof, and is configured to set up a virtual touch panel 40 associated with the screen of the display 11 in the three-dimensional space and, every time an air-clicking of a key on the virtual touch panel 40 by the fingertip 31 is detected, determine that the key was selected by a person to be authenticated. The authentication apparatus then performs authentication processing that involves comparing numbers corresponding to the selected keys with a preregistered PIN code.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
