摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and the algorithm thereof, which can more correctly and simply measure distance from a photographic subject, by compensating the distance according to the tilt angle, even when the photographic subject is tilted to the imaging apparatus in a direction close thereto or away therefrom. SOLUTION: A controller 15 comprises a flash image acquiring section 22 for acquiring an image 4c, by calculating the differences between an image 4a photographed under where a flash light 1a is emitted along with natural light 3 of figure 1 obtained from an optics 10 by using a flash unit 1, and an image 4b photographed by using only the natural light 3 without the flash unit 1; a photographed image distance calculating section 23 for calculating the distance from the photographic subject, based on the image acquired by the flash image acquiring section 22; a photographed image tilt calculating section 24 for calculating the tilt value of the photographic subject, based on the image acquired by the flash image acquiring section 22; and a distance compensation calculating section 25, for compensating for the distance from the photographic subject calculated by the photographed image distance calculating section 23, based on the tilt value calculated by the photographed image tilt calculating section 24.
