PURPOSE: A dust collector and a vacuum cleaner are provided to collect a large amount of dust by enlarging the density of accumulated dust since spiral flow is generated in a cylinder container. CONSTITUTION: A dust collector comrpises a container(35), a suction tube(36), a discharge tube, a partition(39), a first filter(41), a cup member(42), and a second filter section(45). The suction tube contacts the side wall of the container and guides air along the inner circumference of the container. The discharge tube connects to a side wall(35c) of the container. The partition has a first opening(39a). The first filter has a cylindrical shape. The cup member has a cylindrical shape having the opened bottom. The cup member has a sidewall(53) and a lower wall(54). The lower wall has a second opening(54a). The second filter part is placed in the second opening.
