Highly deformable composite material for medical devices

The material (1) has an elastic fabric (2) comprising a network of elastic yarns (4), and a polymer (3) permeable to air and water vapor, and impermeable to liquids and solid organisms. The polymer covers the elastic yarns of the elastic fabric and forms deposits. The elastic yarns comprise multiple core yarns, each of which comprises a central yarn including an elastic material, where the core yarn is wound around the central yarn. The elastic material of the central yarn is selected from polyurethanes, and the core yarn is made of polymer such as polyamides and polyethylene terephthalate. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a medical device for protecting an area of skin or maintaining a medical accessory (2) a method for manufacturing a composite material.
