PURPOSE: A digital camera and method thereof are provided to accurately sense a motion by moving hardware related to an OIS(Optical Image Stabilizer) in a live-on state. CONSTITUTION: After still images or a video is captured, the driving rate of a DSP(Digital Signal Processor)(507) is changed to a set value. An optical hand shaking prevention unit moves the optical system of a digital camera from a live view on state. After the operation rates of the optical hand shaking prevention unit is established to the set value, the DSP initializes variable values related to the optical hand shaking prevention unit.
