A laundry treatment machine and the control method of the same

PURPOSE: A washing machine and control method thereof are provided to automatically determine a laundry pattern by considering water levels and laundry amount. CONSTITUTION: A user inputs desired water levels into a washing machine(S1). A control unit supplies washing water according to the inputted water levels(S2). The control unit senses laundry amount(S3). The control unit determines set reference water levels according to the sensed laundry amount. The control unit compares the inputted water levels with the determined reference water levels(S5). The control unit determines a washing pattern according to the selected water levels(S6, S8).
