PURPOSE: A power supply apparatus and method are provided to minimize power supply hold time due to malfunction created in a distribution line by safely and rapidly executing a live wire construction method. CONSTITUTION: A power storage(210) stores first electricity for supplying to a receiver of electric power. An electricity receiver(220) receives second electricity from outside. The electricity receiver receives the second electricity from a generator(240). A electric power converting part(230) selects one electricity of the first electricity and the second electricity. The power storage store the first electricity as a direct current type. The electricity receiver receives the second electricity of the direct current type. The electric power converting part changes direct current power into alternating current power and supplies the alternating current power to the receiver of the electric power.
