A pad for protecting a person from pain while that person is learning a new sport is provided. The pad comprises a layer of V-shaped polymer foam removably inserted into the back of said person's pants, the pad being sized to fit snugly inside the seat of pants of the person wearing it. In use, the arms of V-shape are inserted downwards, one along each pant leg, and the inner vertex of said V-shape rests securely on the crotch seam of said pants.
